Puree parties are a fun an exciting way to create an assortment of purees that celebrates baby’s first meals, and gives moms a chance to bond with each other and connect with nature.
New mothers have enough on their plate with a new baby in
the home and it can seem like an insurmountable task to even begin to think
about processing and pureeing baby food.
Thank goodness for a village of great family and friends, like you, who
want to support the new mom in providing homemade purees for her baby for the coming
months. So, get all the gals together and stock mom’s freezer full
of baby purees.
PUREE PARTY PLANNER
The Goal
To help stock the new mom’s freezer full of purees for the new baby, so she’ll have time to get that much-needed massage she’s been wanting and baby can experience his first meals from home.

The Plan
Decide ahead of time who you’ll invite and what you’ll make,
depending on baby’s age and stage. Feel
free to use recipes from this site or from my book, 201 Organic Baby Purees, to
create your menu. Have each mom bring
fresh or frozen organic ingredients to make the baby purees, this is what I
call an “un-pot luck.
Women can be crabby when their hungry so plan to fill their
tummies with something good and nutritious.
Have plenty of drinks, including non-alcoholic cocktails. Remember, we did say this party would be fun
right? This is the kind of girls night
out I’m talking about!
Invitations
Create your guest list and send out invitations 2 weeks in
advance, along with an insert containing their kitchen role and organic
ingredient(s). Make sure you indicate
the quantity (i.e. 2 pounds organic sweet potatoes).
The Roles
Give each guest a role and include it in their invitation so
they’ll know their job. You may find you’ll
have more than one, but depending on how much food you’ll make, you’ll need the
help.
I’ve come up with a few suggested job titles to get you started:
